SHARE, LOANS & FINANCIAL SERVICES

You can save whatever you can afford – there is no minimum. You do not have to borrow but if you do, you need to save regularly over a 10 week period to qualify for a loan. A first loan is limited to twice the amount you have saved up to a maximum of £500. Provided you have established a satisfactory record you can then borrow up to 4 times the amount you have saved for a second and subsequent loans. Loan repayments are calculated so a small amount goes to your savings – your savings grow as you repay a loan providing more collateral for future loans. (see Loans Policy)

Loan example: Borrow £500 over a year – total interest charged £31.16 based on 52 weekly payments (more examples). Savings increased by £93.50. (Interest rates 12.68 APR or 1% per month on reducing balance)

Share withdrawal and loan application forms can be completed and returned by e-mail. Alternatively, they can be downloaded and returned to the Credit Union office by post or in person.

CHRISTMAS SAVINGS ACCOUNT

We have a new savings only account on offer. Basically, whatever you save in this account you will not be able to access until November. Come Christmas this year you will have cash in your hand to spend and, important to remember, your money is safe with us. We are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. You cannot borrow on this account but new members have the option of the 2 savings accounts.
