Our People
THE BOARD
All credit unions are guided by a board of volunteer directors - drawn from the membership - which oversees the day-to-day affairs of the business as well as managing longer term aims and objectives.
The board is elected annually at the AGM and consists of up to fifteen individuals including the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
Craigmillar Credit Union places great emphasis on the fact that its members are also its owners, and therefore proactively encourage people to contribute to its ongoing development by standing for election to the Board, as well as offering their voluntary services in various other capacities.
STAFF

Craigmillar Credit Union has a small dedicated staff team who look after the day-to-day operations of the business. This includes a full-time Development Officer and a part-time Development Support Worker.
Both members of staff are based at the main office at 2 Niddrie Mains Road and cover a range of duties including financial management, general enquiries and marketing and promotions. Between them they ensure that credit union service is available five days per week, 9.30am – 4.30pm.
VOLUNTEERS

In addition to the two members of staff Craigmillar Credit Union also has a pool of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Credit Union movement and Craigmillar is no different- we could not operate without their very valuable contribution.
Volunteers fulfil a range of important roles and responsibilities, including operating collection points, advising members, monitoring procedures as well as serving on the board and various other committees.
Credit Union volunteers are given every opportunity to progress and develop their skills. Our induction programme gives volunteers an insight into the work of the organisation and the general philosophy behind the Credit union movement, while ongoing training opportunities and hands on involvement allows them to develop a range of practical skills that can be used in many other walks of life.
